Healthcare organizations are navigating unprecedented challenges, including workforce burnout, growing operational complexity, staffing shortages, financial pressures, rising patient expectations, and rapid technological change. At the same time, healthcare leaders are leveraging innovation, intelligent technologies, connected care models, operational transformation, and new approaches to care delivery to improve outcomes while creating more sustainable environments for patients, clinicians, and staff. The theme of this year's conference, "From Burnout to Breakthrough: Rebalancing People, Process, and Technology," highlights the strategies, technologies, and leadership approaches helping healthcare organizations reduce friction, improve experiences, strengthen resilience, and transform care delivery across the continuum. We seek presentations that move beyond theory and showcase real-world implementation, measurable outcomes, lessons learned, and scalable approaches that can help healthcare organizations accelerate progress from challenge to opportunity, burden to efficiency, and burnout to breakthrough. Selected presentations will be delivered on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, during the NJDVHIMSS Annual Conference at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.

If you are Vendor submitting an Abstract, please note that you are required to present with a provider organization in a case study format. You will be required to detail who you are presenting with in your Abstract submission.

The deadline to submit presentations is July 31st.

Things to consider before submitting a proposal online:

• • Content must be unbiased and free of commercial influence.
  • References to products, inclusion of product names, screenshots of applications, and references that include specific vendor organization names are all considered elements of commercialism and are not permitted.
  • If the above exists in a proposal, the proposal should be balanced (i.e., three or more examples of the same type of commercial item are included).
  • If accepted, information submitted will be used in marketing materials and is subject to New Jersey & Delaware Valley HIMSS final approval/edits.
  • Provide complete, detailed answers to all text questions. Proposals are scored lower if there are few details.

Please select the conference track that best aligns with your proposed presentation.

• Track 1: Connected & Frictionless Care Delivery
• Focus on reducing operational, clinical, and digital friction across inpatient, acute, rehabilitation, and broader care delivery workflows, teams, systems, and care settings. Topics may include interoperability, care coordination, workflow redesign, documentation burden, handoffs, referral management, virtual care integration, and cross-continuum communication. Proposals should demonstrate measurable improvements in clinician experience, patient experience, efficiency, or care coordination and share lessons learned from implementation and scale.
  Typical settings include: inpatient care, acute care, rehabilitation, care coordination, and operational care delivery workflows.
• Track 2: Digital Experience, Data & Intelligent Technologies
• Explore how technology, data and analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence can improve care delivery while reducing cognitive and administrative burden. Topics may include workflow-aligned design, usability, operational intelligence, ambient technologies, predictive analytics, cybersecurity and network resilience, AI governance, decision support, and automation. Submissions should highlight measurable outcomes, implementation realities, adoption lessons, and how organizations balance innovation with safety, security, and trust.
  Typical settings include: enterprise health IT, informatics, digital transformation, cybersecurity, analytics, AI, and cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Track 3: Sustainable Operations & Workforce Transformation
• Examine how organizations improve clinical, operational, and administrative performance while creating more sustainable care environments for clinicians, staff, and operational teams. Topics may include capacity and flow management, staffing coordination, workforce enablement, top-of-license practice, real-time operations, virtual support models, revenue cycle optimization, compliance and regulatory operations, and reducing organizational complexity. Presentations should share measurable impact on throughput, workforce sustainability, operational reliability, financial performance, compliance readiness, or patient outcomes.
  Typical settings include: enterprise operations, workforce management, command centers, revenue cycle, administrative operations, and health system performance improvement.
• Track 4: Beyond the Hospital Walls
• Highlight strategies that extend care delivery beyond traditional acute care settings to improve outcomes, access, and experience across outpatient, ambulatory, community, rural, and home-based care environments. Topics may include population health, care-at-home programs, rural health, community-based care, proactive care models, patient engagement, remote monitoring, value-based care, interoperability, and digital approaches that support upstream intervention and longitudinal care management across the continuum of care. Proposals should demonstrate measurable impact on access, experience, utilization, coordination, health equity, or overall care delivery transformation.
  Typical settings include: ambulatory care, outpatient services, population health, community-based care, rural health, home-based care, and value-based care programs.

Submission Requirements
HIMSS reserves the right to change your selected topic category, session format, or session level as needed. If accepted, HIMSS may copy edit your session description and learning objectives for marketing materials.

• 1. The proposal must not promote an organization, product, and/or service. Avoid endorsements; do not explicitly endorse any products, solutions, or services in your presentation. Your role as speaker is to inform, not to sell.
  2. It is recommended that proposals submitted by consultants or market suppliers include a provider/user participant as the primary speaker. For continuing education purposes, any form of commercialism or vendor bias in the proposal will not be accepted.
  3. When submitting a proposal, please ensure you provide comprehensive details and substantiating evidence that support your content. Detailed proposals help reviewers fully understand the scope, feasibility, outcomes, and impact of your submission.
  4. Complete all components of the proposal, including measurable outcomes, implementation approaches, and lessons learned.
  5. Be succinct in your responses and avoid redundancy.
  6. Check for spelling and grammatical errors.
  7. Include URL links to charts, graphs, figures, references, open-source tools, or supporting resources where applicable.
  8. Identify and cite all sources and acknowledgements.
  9. Obtain written permission from copyright holders for any previously published figures, tables, or text excerpts and acknowledge the original source.
  10. Ensure all necessary approvals and clearances have been obtained prior to submission.
  11. Proposals should not contain plagiarism, invasion of privacy, violations of proprietary rights or copyright, or libelous or injurious material.

Proposal Review Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:

• Relevance to the selected conference track
• Alignment with the conference theme
• Innovation and originality
• Practical applicability and scalability
• Demonstrated outcomes and measurable impact
• Demonstrated ability to translate innovation into operational, clinical, workforce, or patient impact
• Quality of implementation insights and lessons learned
• Overall value to conference attendees

Preference will be given to provider-led presentations and presentations that include measurable results and real-world implementation experience.

Presentation Format
Accepted presentations will be scheduled as educational sessions unless otherwise specified by the conference planning committee. Presentations should focus on practical application, measurable outcomes, lessons learned, and actionable insights that attendees can apply within their own organizations. Educational sessions are expected to be evidence-based, objective, and free from commercial bias in support of continuing education requirements.
